If only we would have known it would surge past $3 in 2021 due to blockchain gaming demand. With the 13 week powerdown time I think Hive has severely crippled it's potential for user growth. People in crypto can't wait days, let alone weeks or months to get their funds due to the rapid market price swings. This creates a sort of time liability for users who vest large sums.
The way I see it, crypto is a dying game. Too many new players have extracted liquidity and even more importantly the market confidence from crypto users. Why would anyone want to invest into something that could literally go to zero overnight (or instantly in some cases), has virtually no guardrails for mistakes, is rampant with scammers and schemers, and is confusing as hell to boot. I've been involved in Bitcoin and altcoins since 2013 and it's always been a shitshow - exchanges closing, stealing, lying. Most altcoins go to zero or get delisted. Few, if any, hold true intrinsic value.
Recently I dumped most of what crypto I had left with the exception of Hive. Mainly because the powerdown restraint but also because prices are down so bad its not even worth it. So here's to a hail Mary play and hoping we see a massive recovery one day on Hive.
