Das österreichische Parlament steht kurz davor, die Preise für Uber-Fahrten zu regulieren. Irgendwie kommt mir das nicht richtig vor, sondern es sieht eher nach Protektionismus bzw. Kommunismus aus. In allen anderen Branchen entscheidet der Markt über die Preise einer privaten Dienstleistung und nicht der Staat. Regulierte Taxi-Preise sollten im Zeitalter des Internets und Smartphones, wo bereits vor der Fahrt der konkrete Preis für eine Strecke in der App angeboten wird, der Vergangenheit angehören.
Es gibt jetzt eine Petition, die ihr im Internet unterschreiben könnt, um den Wettbewerb bei Taxi-Vermittlungs-Apps (nicht nur Uber) zu gewährleisten.

The Austrian parliament is on the verge of regulating prices for Uber trips. Somehow this does not seem right to me, but looks rather like protectionism or even communism. In all other sectors, it is the market that decides the price of a private service, not the state. Regulated taxi prices should be a thing of the past in the age of the Internet and smartphones, where the price for a trip is offered beforehand in the app.
There is now a petition that you can sign on the Internet to ensure competition in the taxi calling app sector (not just Uber).
