I believe the difference is a smartphone and bullshit filters, versus a simple camera and taking time with editing. Also i am not hating on selfies or smartphone photography, i love those too. I just think some times it feels good to make a photograph with an actual camera, and than edit it on my computer. But that's just me. There is like 8 billion other individual out there, so who knows who is right...
