Today was my aunt's memorial/celebration of life. It was a good event, seeing lots of people that I knew - people who know my secrets, my past... and still (mostly) love me.
After the event, we took a wander through the countryside where I spent the best part of my growing up. Here are two views of where I lived...
Firstly, the actual house I grew up in (on the left on the hill)... Although it's changed a lot, it still retains much of the charm my Swedish ancestors built into it. Even the road it's built at the end of is named after my ancestors.
This is from the top of the driveway above the house. You can see the window I looked out from many times when I was a teenager. You can also see the spectacular view across the Columbia River - a view I knew very well!
I also took a picture of the actual house, though I decided I wouldn't post that since it's not really visible from public roads - except from across the slough (that's what we call the slower-moving channel away from the river.)
Photos taken by myself in August 2019 with my Pentax K30.
