Ferry County Fairgrounds in Republic - Wistful Washington
Ferry County fairgrounds is a very small fairground, only a few buildings in all. But it does well to contain the county fair every August. We got to attend the fair a couple of years ago, but this time, we were helping out the local 4-H as we met up with some of our friends.
The carousel building is one of the prettiest buildings in Ferry County, in my opinion. The weather vane is perfectly situated. As you can see, I tried grabbing a few pictures of this (and neglected the carousel itself inside - which only runs occasionally, such as during the county fair.)
Atop another building is a simpler version. I think it adds to the charm of the place.
The grounds are well-planted including this Mountain Ash with nasturtiums in full bloom surrounding it.
This covered bridge spans O'Brien Creek to connect the horse area of the fairgrounds with the rest of the animals and exhibits.
For a relatively arid area, Ferry County has more than its share of natural beauty!
