They say, with these lips you have shamed the rose, dear
Unaware, the cup of youth is filled with wine of love!
But, after blooming for two days,
they have to become dull forever
After the ecstasy subsides,
they have to spend a long period of dryness
It is true that these pure cheeks have made the moonlight dirty,
Took away the good fortune of the jasmine,
Reduced the value of the pearl
But, after showing their glow for two days, they too have to lose their lustre,
Like yellow leaves, they have to climb at the feet of winter
Perhaps these eyes frustrated the arrow stream,
Obstructed the vow of restraint,
Pierced the heart of the chanting and penance
But, these too have to bow before the wheel of time,
Losing their radiance,
they have to sleep in the lap of darkness someday.
It is an illusion, if you think that—I loved this mortal body,
Loved these eyes-lips-cheeks, accepted them as beautiful
There is another essence,
which I have recognized in the heartbeat,
Because of which, beloved,
I have considered you to be eternally beautiful!
At whose feet ‘ages’ like travelers rest, dear,
Flowers of faith are offered without any expectation of ‘birth-death’, dear,
In whose softness the sharp thorns of ‘old age’-‘decline’ are not hidden, dear,
That love of your heart is the root of this beauty, dear!
Thank you so much for reading. Have a great day ☺️🙏. @vikbuddy
