You did a good job confusing me, but look at this, I don't think I totally agree with the premise that we don't live in a common reality, because although I do believe that most of reality is subjective and therefore personal/individual, I believe that this reality originates from something objective and common that it has reality in itself and it serves as the basis for our own creation.
That said, I do agree, if I understood correctly, that the one-line world view is something dangerous and undesirable, understanding this as a kind of totalitarianism, and seeing its counterpart as a kind of decentralization. In which case, I think neither end is good, although I tend to lean more towards the second.
Anyway, I don't think locking yourself up can contribute to anything other than self-delusion.
