Hands That Lift Up a Nation - Solidarity in Venezuela - - -Manos que levantan una Nación - Solidaridad en Venezuela
Hello, everyone. I still don’t know how to begin this message—which is at once a communication, an expression of gratitude, and a surprise—about everything that has happened in our beautiful country, Venezuela. After June 24, many things changed in our country.
I set out from my home state with the intention of doing my part, accompanied by a wonderful group of doctors from Anzoátegui state. We set out in the early morning hours of June 25 with the goal of bringing our support to those affected by the earthquake.
In the photos and videos I have saved, you can’t even begin to see (I swear) the magnitude of the damage caused by the earthquake. Many buildings were damaged, and thousands of people were affected! The situation we were experiencing seemed like something out of a post-war scene.
Chaos and destruction reigned in the first few hours after the earthquake, with many people missing.
Despair, fear, sadness, and a heavy atmosphere hung over the entire area. It is impossible to describe exactly what life was like—and still is like—in the areas affected by the earthquake, but at the same time, the dedication of rescue workers, doctors, and firefighters brought us together as a single team to do everything in our power to offer hope for life and healing. But that’s not all—I must say with deep pride that it was the people themselves—civilians, neighbors, friends, and ordinary citizens—who quickly stepped up to help their fellow citizens. In a truly superhuman effort, most of Venezuela’s states organized to donate medicines, clothing, toys, and food to be delivered to collection centers across the country. Likewise, Venezuelans living in various countries—where immigration had taken them—also organized themselves quickly and efficiently to send donations back to the country.
I would also like to thank every country that helped, both indirectly and very directly, in the rescue efforts for those affected. Thank you so much!
But I must tell you something: the time for solidarity is not over; this is where the work begins—to help, collaborate, and support these thousands of affected families who have lost almost everything except the hope and dignity that each of these people possesses. This shows us that the greatest asset the Venezuelan people have is their people, their professionals, and the deep love that flows from the grassroots and from the heart.

Hola a todos amigos. Aun no sé como iniciar este escrito de comunicación, agradecimiento y sorpresa al mismo tiempo por todo lo que ha pasado nuestro hermoso pais venezuela. Después del 24 de junio en nuestro país muchas cosas cambiaron.
Partí desde mi estado con la iniciativa de aportar mi granito de arena en compañia de un grupo maravilloso de médicos del estado Anzoátegui, nos movilizamos desde el día 25 de junio por la madrugada con el propósito de llevar nuestro apoyo a los afectados por el terremoto.
En las imagenes y los videos que tengo guardado no se puede ver (se los juro) la magnitud de los daños que ocasionó el terremoto. Muchos edificios dañados y miles de personas afectadas! La situación que vivimos parecia ser sacada de un escenario después de la guerra.
Caos y destrucción se vivieron en las primeras horas depues del teremoto, muchas personas desaparecidas.
La desesperación, el miedo, la tristeza y una atmosfera pesada se sentia en todo la zona, es indescriptible poder decirle exactamente como se vivió y se vive aun en la zonas afectadas por el terremoto, pero al mismo tiempo el compromiso de los funcionarios rescatistas, médicos y bomberos nos unimos como un solo equipo para hacer en lo medida de lo posible dar una esperanza de vida y de sanación. Pero no solo ello, debo decir con profundo orgullo que fue el mismo pueblo, las personas civiles, vecinos, amigos y el ciudadano de pie que se abocó rápidamente en ayudar al mismo pueblo. De una manera sobre humana, la mayoria de los estados de Venezuela se organizaron para donar desde medicinas, ropa, juguetes, comida para llevarlas a los centros de Acopio del pais. Y ais mismo, los venezolanos desde distintos paises donde la inmigración los llevo tambien se organizaron de una forma rapida y precisa para llevar os donativos al pais.
Agradecer ademas a cada pais que ayudo de forma indirecta y muy directa en el rescate de los afectados . De verdad muchas gracias!
Pero debo decirles algo, el tiempo de solidaridad no se termina, aqui es que empieza la tarea de poder ayudar, colaborar y apoyar a estas miles de familias afectadas que han perdido casi todo, menos la esperanza y la dignidad que cada una de estas personas tienen. Esto nos desmuestra que el pueblo venezolano lo más grande que tiene es su gente, sus profesionales y el amor profundo que sale desde las bases y desde la solidaridad de la esencia humana.
