Good day everyone. I am so grateful to participate in this week's prompt. So going by the prompt, which says, "Are you tired or just avoiding sleep?"

As I write this, it's exactly 2 am, and I've been up since 11:30 pm. I will just stay like this until dawn. It has been this way for over a year. People have recommended I see a doctor, but I don't think that I am sick since I am making good use of my sleepless night.

However, stumbling on the prompt a moment ago, I paused for a while and thought about this prompt. So it's took me back to memory lane, where I found it very difficult to sleep at night because of certain things I was going on in my life, the challenges of the moment and others therefore, as a result of that, it became a custom; it became part and parcel of my life, in such a way that, when it get, to certain time sleep will just vanish, and I would just lie down like that till daybreak.

It affected my health and my productivity; I couldn't help it. So what happened during that time was that I converted that period to a very productive time, you know, as a writer, and as a teacher, I do most of my research, I do most of my work at night, and as a result of that, I achieve much productivity and an achievement in the night.

So in this case, I might just say that I am not tired, but I am just avoiding sleep, so that I can be able to achieve certain things in life. However, there are implications to this; you know, it becomes a problem when you don't sleep much. As I said earlier, the body needs a lot of sleep, but when you don't sleep much, it harms your health, which is what I'm trying to battle now. I am naturally slim, and when I'm going through less sleep, I find it difficult to add weight, despite a good diet, and people will be asking, "If I'm sick?" But what is good health, or adding weight when you are unable to achieve certain things in life? So in my case, I was tired at first, and my tiredness translated into sleep avoidance. And it's going well with me.
