I’m pleased to be here once again to share my reflection on the topic raised by Bro. Eli concerning the purpose of man on earth. The Holy Bible remains our ultimate guide, and as rightly emphasized, God is a God of purpose. Everything He created—plants, animals, the seas, and the land—was designed with intention. Plants and animals, for example, exist to support human life, as they were given to us for food. In Genesis, God spoke all things into existence and declared them good because He already knew they would fulfill their purpose for mankind. In the same way, human beings were also created with a definite purpose.

The book of Ephesians 2:10 makes this clear: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand for us to walk in.” This shows that our purpose is to do good. It is therefore not surprising that everything Jesus did during His time on earth reflected this—He went about doing good. Acts 10:38 also highlights this, explaining how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, enabling Him to do good and heal those who were oppressed. That was His mission.

So, as humans, we are called to consistently do good, just as God has intended. Doing good involves worshipping God, strengthening the church through our spiritual gifts, helping others, and making a positive impact in the world. We are not here by accident; we were deliberately created to bring glory to God. Whenever we act outside of this, we stray from our true purpose.

This message is crucial because it helps us understand why we are here. Our purpose is not only about reproduction but also about living a life that reflects goodness—doing what is right, pure, and worthy of praise, as stated in Philippians 4:8. We must avoid living carelessly, remembering that we will one day give an account to our Creator.

I pray that God opens our understanding so we can recognize our purpose, live it out faithfully, and not take it for granted, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thank you for reading.
