Today was wonderful for me because I went for fellowship and was well-fed by the word. So unlike my previous post, today’s post will be based on spirituality.

It’s gonna be about a very important subject matter that people tend to overlook and I can say that I was glad to be part of the youth fellowship today.

Originally, this message should be directed toward people that are believers but I do feel even unbelievers can benefit from it and this is the reason why I believe in God.

For me, God’s laws are basic common-sense. Apart from some laws that are deep and require an in-depth study of the word of God, the doctrines that bind the Christian faith can be understood by non-Christians.

I’ll probably do well to write on “Why everyone on earth must worship the one and only Almighty God,” but today I’ll be talking about the lifestyle that pleases God.

I’m not perfect in any way. I've got shortcomings like everyone else, but it is important to note that there’s a lifestyle that pleases God.

We all know what "lifestyle" means. It is the way you live your life. If you must please God, your way of life must be in alignment with his standards. We’ll be looking at a few things we need to put in place in order for our lives to please God.

– You must have faith

Hebrews 11:6 says, “Without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

This is powerful I must say. Our lives must be filled with faith if we must please him. I must confess that in all our life dealings, our actions most of the time prove that we do not believe God exists.

God needs people who put their full trust in him. If we do, we’ll get our reward for that.

– You’re spiritually minded

Even non-Christians know that the spirit controls the physical. If you must please God, there are things you and I must avoid at all costs, and you can find them in the book of Galatians, chapter 5 vs. 19.

Whether you’re a Christian or not, there’s always a war within you. The spirit wars against the flesh. It is a battle of spirituality against carnality.

Romans 8 has this to say about spirituality and carnality. It says, “For those who live according to the flesh, set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the spirit, the things of the spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

When your mind transcends pleasurable and ephemeral things and focuses on spiritual substance, then you’re indeed pleasing God.

- You continually praise God

“Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of the lips that confess His name.” ~ Hebrews 13;15

If there’s anything God loves, then it has to be a heart filled with praise toward Him. Prayers move mountains; praises move God.

You can praise God in so many ways, ranging from singing to words of thanks and exhortation. God loves it when you praise him.

- You possess the fear of God

You can have a child who hides his face and runs away from you when he sees you approaching from a distance but still disrespects you. Likewise, your son can feel safe around you, not bothered at all, and still obey you as a father every time.

This is exactly what we’re saying with respect to godly fear. Fearing God does not imply trembling and shaking when you hear the name of God, but rather the recognition that there is a supreme being who owns me.

For this cause, we live our lives with care and caution anywhere and in any place we find ourselves. We do not compromise our integrity or identity.

I’ll draw the curtain here. There are a lot of things we ought to know and do if we are to live a life that pleases God. But I guess we can digest these few tips and use them effectively in our lives.

Thanks and remain blessed.
