Bitcoin prices have dropped fairly quickly the past hours and mostly because of some trouble over at Binance. Trading came to a pause eventually.Β
Update 1 : It appears that hours prior to the avalanche of complaints about wrongly sold altcoins, Binance was struggling with server downtime in the UK and several other areas.
A Binance rep confirmed its team is working on the issue, adding that it βis only affecting some users and we are investigating the root cause.β Please note that there is no evidence to suggest the two issues are related.
Update 2 : The customer support rep has since told users that there is no Β need to change their passwords, hinting the exchange desk is struggling with a technical malfunction rather than a hack.
