I recently had the opportunity to walk around the Old Mountain village of Topolitsa, located in the Karnobat Mountains.
The village is well maintained and very lively.
There is a large primary school called "Svetlina" (Light), where many children from Topolitsa and nearby villages study.
The school yard is large and well laid out. In front there are fountains with an interesting shape from which mountain water flows.
There is a large metal globe, a wheel, an abundance of flowers, benches, tables, indoor and outdoor gazebos.
Children play sports on a large sports field.
Nearby is the village's kindergarten, which appears to be functioning.
In the center of the village there is a large fountain. Water flows from a stone lion's head.
Next to it are four large stone troughs, which are used for hand washing carpets, blankets, etc.
In the center there is a park with many trees and places to relax.
In the center of the park is the village hall. The post office is housed in the same building.
In the park there is a large monument dedicated to the fallen participants in the wars.
In the village there is a large general store with restaurants.

I also saw some large buildings that looked uninhabited.
The bus stop of the village is in the very center. Since the day I was there was a Sunday, there was a market selling clothes and other goods on the street.
The majority of the population of the village consists of Pomacs and Turks.

Saint Dimitar Church was built before 1944, renovated in 1999.

There are several guest houses in the village and the area is full of chalets.
There is also a beer hall in the village.
As I walked I saw many large and beautiful houses with rich and well-kept yards.
It was full of large greenhouses, yet the main livelihood of the population here is vegetable production.
