Yesterday was Dimitar's Day and my husband outlinez@outlinez had a name day.

According to folk beliefs, winter begins from this day.

We prepared a festive meal for the holiday and here are pictures of some of them.

Our daughter artysela@artysela made Banitsa - a traditional dough dish made with fine dough crusts, cheese, eggs and sparkling water.

alt

Köpolu - traditional Bulgarian salad with roasted eggplants, roasted red peppers and garlic.

alt

Tikvenik - again a banitsa, but sweet. It is made with fine pastry crusts, grated pumpkin and sugar.

alt

Savory cake - made with potatoes, boiled eggs, cheese, cottage cheese and cheese, pickles, cherry tomatoes, olives and mayonnaise.

Rolls with Swiss chard, cream cheese and smoked salmon.
