🌴 Welcome fellow Hive travelers 🌊.
I hope you are doing amazingly well. Today I want to show you my trip to Care Care Beach and I will show you how to travel to this hidden beach where the only way to reach it, is walking from "El Agua Beach" which was the way I met it or you can also reach it by boat or peñero from Manzanillo Beach.
As soon as we arrived at "El Agua Beach", we met with the group organized by the tour to warm up before starting our adventure and hike. But, at that moment, honestly, I did not want to go because I saw that it was too many people and I knew that there was not going to be a good control by the guide team, however we were 4 friends in total and my adventurous pet, so we decided to know the route even though it was not what we expected, regarding the crowd of people that would go up too; but, we were already at the starting point, so we started.
🌴 ¡Bienvenidos amigos viajeros de Hive! 🌊
To do this route it is good to know that the more covered you go, the better. The sun exposure is 100%, so full sunscreen everywhere because the route is long and above all thirsty, I took 2 liters of water that in the end did not yield me as I expected. So I recommend: Water (freeze it the day before) believe me when I tell you that in less than 10 minutes the ice was already making water. It is important to wear good shoes because there are parts where you walk on rocks and some may have sharp edges, but nothing to worry about. It is a friendly route, as long as you go with the necessary precautions, it will be a tour that you will enjoy 100% of the landscape, it is incredible because they are virgin places where few people go and there is no commerce around.
The hike started with a lot of sun but the path was easy, however it was still a long way to Care Care beach. I counted on my watch the time it took to get there and it was 1 hour and 30 minutes, which seemed like a short time but with the sun it was difficult to move forward. That is why it is important to cover yourself as much as you can, ideally long sleeve surf shirts are the right ones for this hike, because of its cool fabric and since you are going to get to a beach, you can get it wet and I assure you that at that moment you will be thankful to have that wet shirt to go back later, since it keeps you cool from the strong heat.
From the moment you leave El Agua beach, you pass by several beautiful beaches, but as you can see, there are no stores or people, although it is suitable for swimming. This beach you see is called "El Humo beach" and at the end is a hotel that was formerly very visited by tourists, where I remember it with great nostalgia because I went there with my family when I was a child, the hotel is called "Portofino". The only thing that made me happy was that the guide told us that the owners of "SunSol" (another vacation hotel) are currently open to the public and it is frequented by many tourists. Margarita Island has a lot to offer and today, I see that many things are returning to work as before.
This stage of the trail is called RESISTE. Well, I gave it the name because as you can see in the photo, there is no shade anywhere and that point was the strongest of the route, because you had to pass the mountain that you see in the middle to reach Care Care beach. It is important to hydrate at all times, that's what I did every 5 minutes to not get dizzy from the heat and that all the way, it was the steepest part to walk. We were already there, it had to be done, there was nothing left to go but it looked far anyway. There is no denying that the experience is extraordinary and the landscape being so virgin, you see beautiful colors and on the way there are some red fruits that are inside the cactus, they are called "Pitigüey".
The Pitigüey is the fruit of the cactus that you normally know as Melón de monte, its scientific name is Melocactus curvispinus.
It has several names: Melón de monte, Buche, Pichigüey or Pitigüey, as it is called in the East of Venezuela.
The Pitigüey is a fleshy fruit, with the shape of a mini chili bell pepper, its color is fuchsia to red, shiny and inside is sweet, totally edible. Inside it is very similar to the Pitahaya fruit or Dragon Fruit, white with black seeds.

Already this view is the top and the end of the most difficult. There were 2.5 km of travel to arrive and 2.5km to return, with an altitude of 80 meters above sea level. You can appreciate the colors of that beautiful beach, at that moment every effort was worth a thousand %, it was a new place to visit and to know. Many people in such a small place, which was really the only thing that did not please me, so you have to ask even the smallest details when we make a trip or excursion. However when we arrived, we went to the farthest part of the beach haha. One thing you should know is that there is no signal, NO signal on the cell phone, otherwise I would have stayed longer on the beach and I would have called a peñero that is parked on the other side of the mountain in Manzanillo beach, so that they could pick us up at the 4 maximum. These are things to consider when visiting such incredible places that you don't want to leave and all you want to do is enjoy at least 3 hours. Bringing something to eat is also important.
This is one of the most beautiful beaches I have known in Margarita Island, you can appreciate in the photo that the water is very calm with a perfect temperature, the crystal clear colors of the clean water, makes you can see your feet and this experience I did not want to stop sharing it with you, travelers at heart. There are several groups that organize these excursions and you can look for them on Instagram as: senderosmargarita or exploramargarita. There you can see the routes that they organize weekly, because there really is a lot to explore on this island and the world can also have the opportunity to know these small places where few of us get to.
