I don’t typically draw characters like this for one reason..It’s hard! The expressions are small and if it’s not drawn right then you could miss the mark.
You can see this adorable critter crawling around in most episodes of The Ancient Magus’ Bride. I’m not sure if it has a special power or if it’s charm is it’s cuteness. I’d love to have one of these guys to snuggle with. Hopefully I can find it in plush form!
I sketched out several shapes with the dry ink brush tool before ending up with this. I’ll be posting the lapse video in another future post. Mostly likely the next volume of collected hyperlapse videos.
I layered on several colors with the gouache paint brush and added some subtle highlights with the dry ink brush. I thought about stopping here but decided to do a really quick background.
I suck at doing backgrounds so I decided on something quick and easy. I could’ve add more details but I lost interest. I’ll either redraw this in the future or continue painting in more elements later on.
