I wrote a piece about my life a long time ago. From my childhood to a few years ago. I won't bring it up again but know that it's not always bright. For example, my wife and I have had no contact with my parents for years, for all sorts of good reasons. In fact, since the birth of our oldest son, not anymore. There was just too much going on and they didn't fit the way we lived our lives, at least they didn't want to fit in.

That made us decide to break the ties and that brought a lot of peace, peace in our relationship and peace in our lives. My mother was actually the cause of the problems, she couldn't get along with my wife and showed that. Mean and, sometimes, underhanded. I chose my wife over my parents, and that is the best choice ever to this day.

My mother passed away a few years ago and as crazy as it may sound, it didn't bother me. You sometimes hear of those stories where someone regrets or regrets that the problems were not solved before that time. I didn't have that at all.

My father, on the other hand, is a different story. Although he always supported my mother, even though she was not sincere, he couldn't (always) do anything about it. Of course he made it happen. After my mother died, he had a stroke, one with serious consequences for his body. He is partially paralyzed and drives around in a mobility scooter. He used to be a strong and big guy, now little of that is left. He talks badly and has all kinds of ailments... I do feel sorry for him, he has not much left. My brothers still visit him and I sometimes see him at birthdays and then you start to think.

I notice in him that he tries to get closer but doesn't follow through. And that also makes me suspicious. What if he dies, will I regret it in this case? I really don't dare to say it, but I don't want to take the risk either. I asked my brothers if he would appreciate it if I could have a cup of coffee with him, they both say he would certainly appreciate it.

So I have now agreed to have a cup of coffee with my eldest brother soon, I don't think it's exciting but it is strange... After all these years.... We'll see...

Have A good day !!

Peter
