Last week we went on a winter sports holiday with friends. I have to say, after a hectic year I was ready for that. Last year I still struggled with my health a bit, not yet optimal but we keep hope.
We have been to Austria, Westendorf to be exact.
Like so many people we haven't had a real holiday in the last 2 years, and to be honest...that's a luxury problem. But this year it was possible again so we had a good time. Westendorf is located in the middle of a large ski area where Kitzbuhel is also located, a few kilometers away. There are many slopes where you can ski to and from so that you can be busy all day.
Although I like a beer, we are not into die-hard apres skiing. Of course we'll have one, two or maybe three beers after skiing, but you won't find me in the bar at night.
We could often be found in Gerry's inn, which is an apres-ski bar next to the slopes, ideal. Straight from the skis into the bar :). There were still corona measures, for example your QR code had to be scanned and when you went to the toilet you had to wear a mouth cap. This was also in the gondolas and elevators. But I didn't think that was such a problem.
This was the view from our balcony, we were in a guest house "Haus Panorama". And really, it was great. It was clean, cozy and the owner was very welcoming. We immediately made reservations for next year.
The ladies were sometimes too tired to go out with the gentlemen, then it became a men's afternoon once :)
We had a great time, beautiful weather, beautiful slopes and great people around us.... What more could a person want.
