The close relationship between man, the world and garbage, is by itself a complex subject that deserves a personal analysis in a rational and forward-looking way. As mankind has advanced and evolved through the centuries we have developed a lot as a species, this is a fact, we went from discovering fire by accident and being in small groups secluded in caves creating cave paintings to rise 828 meters above the ground, we have a space race, medicinal among many others, really, as a species, we are at the bottom of the world.
Throughout history, man has exerted an ever-increasing influence on the world around him. The advent of the industrial revolution, demographic expansion and technological development have allowed mankind to exploit natural resources at an unprecedented rate, often without remembering that these resources are finite and that it takes a long time for the planet to replenish them. The patterns are directed towards greater overproduction, overexploitation and overconsumption, which are the trigger for many of the environmental problems we suffer today: overfishing, deforestation, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, climate change, plastic islands and the loss of biodiversity. This unbridled exploitation has led to environmental degradation and the loss of many species.
The amount of waste generated by humanity has reached alarming levels. From household waste to industrial waste, garbage has become a global problem that threatens the health of the planet and its inhabitants.
The key to this problem lies in the proper management of garbage, I understand that it is a crucial challenge facing societies around the world and depends on the general awareness, is that a budget is available to make way for recycling and reuse programs up to the safe disposal of waste. Although there are many people with ecological and sustainable projects that encourage the rational use and care of the elements that make up nature. As well as other projects that seek to reuse waste by creating new and biodegradable products.
It is essential to develop comprehensive strategies that address this problem effectively and consciously, understanding that what we are inheriting is a planet that is collapsing.
To address the problem of litter and its impact on the world, a comprehensive approach involving all sectors of society is needed. This includes implementing sound environmental policies, promoting environmental education and awareness, and encouraging more sustainable consumption and production practices.
Where I live there are programs that clean the beaches and focus on recycling. Although this does not even cover 4% of the existing garbage problem. Here is an easy example. These images are from a place that I have always liked to visit for its views and today you only see garbage. Really the hand of man and man as a species is the best and the worst problem on earth.
"While trash may seem to invade our world, let us remember that in our hands is the power to transform this challenge into an opportunity to build a cleaner, sustainable and prosperous future for all."
