Hello @ladiesofhive community, once again I'm here with a new chapter of Small Things That Sustain Me.
We live surrounded by messages.
Some arrive to organize a meeting.
Others remind us about something we have to do.
Many are forgotten just a few minutes after we read them.
But there is one kind of message that always makes me smile.
The one that simply says:
"I arrived safely."
A few days ago, someone very close to me had to make a short trip and return home later that evening.
Before leaving, that person told me they would send me a message once they arrived.
It wasn't a dangerous trip or a particularly long one.
Even so, without realizing it, I found myself checking my phone from time to time.
I kept doing my usual things.
I read for a while.
Prepared something to eat.
Answered a few messages.
But every now and then, my eyes went back to the screen.
Not because I was overwhelmed with worry.
I was simply waiting for that small confirmation that would let me relax completely.
Finally, the notification appeared.
I picked up my phone and read just two words:
"I arrived safely."
Nothing else.
No long explanation.
No extended conversation.
Just those two words.
And yet, they immediately filled me with peace.
I smiled without even noticing.
Locked my phone and continued with what I had been doing.
That was when I realized that some of the most meaningful phrases in our lives are also the simplest ones.
We receive dozens of notifications every day.
Many go unnoticed.
Others are quickly forgotten.
But some messages carry a completely different value.
Because they do more than inform us.
They reassure us.
They remind us that someone has reached their destination.
That they are safe.
That we can stop imagining possibilities and simply breathe again.
Perhaps that's why I never underestimate these small gestures.
Sending an "I arrived safely" only takes a few seconds.
But for the person waiting on the other side, it can mean much more than a simple message.
It can quietly say:
"You can stop worrying now."
I've learned that some of the greatest expressions of love fit into just a few words.
Sometimes, two simple words are enough to bring peace back into an entire day.
Thank you for reading. 🌷
