When you say you want freedom, anyone will tell you that freedom is a good thing to seek. But as soon as you have it, you will find that having freedom means having to make decisions. And with making decisions also comes the possibility of failing because of your own moves.
We are constantly hearing people complaining about their jobs or their daily habits or how their routines or lives are set up for them, but there are still people who are given the opportunity to start from scratch with no rules or boundaries, they instantly go into a state of being paralyzed, or not paralyzed, but rather start looking for someone to tell them what to do next.
I have seen this happen on even the smallest levels, someone will say they want more freedom in scheduling their time, but once they are given that autonomy, they sit there for hours trying to figure out what is important It is much less stressful when someone else is telling them what to do.
And please do not misunderstand me here, I understand how challenging the burden of responsibility can be, when you have freedom, there is no one to blame when something does not go the way you had planned and this can be really difficult.
Perhaps people do not desire actual freedom, rather, they desire the comfort to have comfort in being able to experience actual freedom. This is a distinct difference in my opinion.
It is also funny how we continue to act otherwise. We use the terms independence and choices as if they are a way of life, but most of us arrange or structure our lives and daily routines and schedules in a manner where we are expending all of our time and energy trying to avoid any form of independence and reducing the overall number of choices we have to make.
So where do we go from here?
