Tia worked on a monster farm. One of her duties was to look after the monster eggs and ensure that they hatch into healthy monsters. After working for many years and interacting with different monster eggs, she can be considered a professional and could tell what type of monster will hatch from an egg by just looking at the shell.
On one particular day at work, Tia visited a cave which houses a rather peculiar monster and found an egg inside it. One look is all Tia needed to know what creature will hatch from it. It was a dragon egg which mean that a dragon will come out of it.
Having taken care of all kinds of monster, Tia was not too surprise to see a dragon egg inside one of the caves. After all, she had taken care of dragons before and even helped some dragon eggs hatch.
That being said, the dragon egg in front of her was rather peculiar. For one, it's almost double the size of a regular dragon egg. Secondly, it's color was that of bright jade: a rather eye-catching color. Looking at it, the term "variant" came to her mind and she couldn't help but feel excitement.
Variant dragons are much rarer and more powerful than regular dragons. What this mean is that many will sought them out. If she could successfully hatch this dragon, it will increase the reputation of her monster farm and that of her own. So with that in mind, Tia was determined to hatch the dragon egg.
Day after day, Tia would visit the cave to check on and take care of the dragon egg. She would always speak to it and make sure that the temperature was just right. As hatching a dragon egg will take a very long time but Tia was willing to wait as she has grown attached to the it.
Finally, after three years, Tia's effort finally bore fruit. In one particular windy day, the dragon egg finally hatched, and a beautiful jade dragon hatchling came out. It was such a beautiful creature that Tia couldn't helped but be smitten by it.
