About 20 minutes ago, I went outside. I noticed there were some very dark purple leaves coming out of the grass close to the compost pile in one my banana circles. I instantly recognized the leaves as mango leaves. One of the mango pits is literally thrown into the compost pile about a week earlier had begun sprouting! I've noticed mango pits are super easy to get sprouted, so I just threw it outside like I've done in the past!

I knew the roots wouldn't be very deep, so I just took a shovel head and stuffed it into the ground underneath the roots and pull that sucker up.

I dug a hole in a more open area of the yard

Then I carefully placed the seedling into the hole and began to fill it back up with good compost and cow manure

Then, I spread mulch over top of the ground area and watered it pretty well

I think this is our fourth mango that I planted now in the yard. The sad part is, I don't remember what variety this seed came from. It was either one of those like normal mangoes you get that's kind of rounded at the store, or it was the thinner Asian Ataulfo variety. I've eaten many mangos in the past week so I won't know until it starts to give fruit. It's kind of like I had a child and I don't know the sex yet. Hahaha....
