Good morning, Steemians!
We had two days in the forecast which said the low would reach 35 degrees. This scared me a little as I have fruit trees that don’t like when it gets below 40-45 degrees F.
For example, my Soursop will lose its leaves if the temperature drops and stays below 40 for any amount of time. I haven’t seen that yet, but I did wrap a tarp around the base of the tree and put a lamp out there to hopefully raise the temperature a few degrees.
Last year the tree was small enough for me to put the tarp completely over the tree to cover it, but this year the tree has grown too large to be able to do that. I’ve also put some pots and other enclosures over some of the smaller plants.

Cross your fingers that everything makes it out ok! We have one more night below 40, it’s supposed to be a low of 38 tonight so I will do the same thing for the plants I did the past two nights. Then, starting on Saturday, we won’t have any nights dip below 40 for a long time. I will be able to snip branches and water things if I need to.
How are you fairing this winter? Are your fruit trees doing ok?
