Track 5: Ascension
Our protagonist exits their vessel at the foot of Olympus. What they see before them is both beautiful and terrifying. It won’t be long now. A few days climb and they will have the knowledge they seek. “What will the gods be like?” they ponder. “What secrets will they share?”
“Will they help me?”
The fifth track on the album is one of the more recently written ones. It mixes piano, drums, bass, and multiple synthesizer voices and is meant to be the precursor to the albums climax. Musically, it ties in themes from the first three tracks on the album. If you don’t believe me, feel free to go back and listen to them. The piano part was inspired in part by Inon Zur, composer of the Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 themes (among others) and arguably one of the greatest video game composers.
