Prelude
Hello everybody, how is it going? It's time again for Share Your Battle. The recommended card for this week is Magi Necrosi, however I didn't had a match this week that showcase the goodness of Magi Necrosi, so instead I have decided to do my Share Your Battle based on a new rare soul bound reward card. Let's start the staring.
Thoughts on Ravehood Warden
When I hear the word warden, I know this card likely to be a protector. And Death Splinter has long awaited for a protector. If we go into Splintercards website to check, this is the only Death Splinter that has protect.
Let's look at the base stats of Ravenhood Warden:
| Mana | Attack | Health | Speed | Armour | Ability |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | 1 (Range) | 2 | 2 | NA | Protect |
Bronze League - Health + 1
Silver League - Attack + 1
Gold League - Inspire, Speed + 1
Beyond Gold - Health + 1, Fury
What does Ravenhood Warden looking on growth?
For me, I feel the key is the base ability of protect. Prior to this, Death Splinter did not have any card with this ability. Subsequently it gains Inspire which is another amazing team buff. Finally it also gains fury to do more damage to cards with taunt.
Stat wise, just a little boost here and there, not exactly significant but good enough to improve survivability in higher leagues.
Alritey, let's see start the battle sharing.

Opponent Lineup
Prediction before pressing rumble
Both me and my opponent opted for similar lineup on Death Splinter. My opponent used Uraeus while I opted for Ravenhood Warden. Let's see whose if I made the right choice to include this new reward card into my lineup.
Let's get ready to rumble
Round 1, All the attacks went towards Xenith Monk whom managed to hold it up with his self healing and also the extra amount given by Ravenhood Warden. Carrion Shade on my opponent lineup fell.
Round 2, A round that see no casualties. But my Xenith Monk got stunned by opponent's Revealer, while my Revealer returned the favour to my opponent's Riftwing. A likely victim in the next round.
Round 3, As expected, both stunned monsters fell. My Revealer struck again, stunning opponent's Venari Bonesmith.
Round 4, Barrage on opponent's stunned Venari Bonesmith which included yet another stun from Revealer.
Round 5, All attack flung towards opponent Revealer which saw yet another stun from my own Revealer before Soul Strangler landed the killing blow. At this point, victory drums are sounding.
Round 6/7, It is time to pick up what's left and bring in the victory. Revealer is on fire, yet another stun on round 7 before Uraeus falls. Victory secured!
After Thoughts
It may seem like just 2 additional armour given from Ravenhood Warden, but it bought us so much time at the tank stage. Sufficient armour blocked off any big strikes from Soul Strangler. Finally I can feel some protection for Death Splinter which was instrumental in helping to secure victory in today's match.
Did my strategy work in this game? Today we are again competing in Little League, remember I mentioned that if possible, do add in cards that have abilities as that is where it makes all the difference. Today Every card on my lineup did what they need to do, while Soul Strangler did not have any ability, but it was the designated big hitter. And today I added a new card with an ability long sought after in Death Splinter. The protect really provided protection and subsequently bring victory.
Will I be using such a lineup in the future? Yes, for sure I will. Have more options to lineup is always a good thing and this card definitely have a high chance to appear in Little League since it manage to scrape pass the mana limit and coming at 4 mana to qualify for Little League.
Protect
A very nice ability provided by the likes of Queen Mycelia, Venari Wavesmith and Truthspeaker, we have seen the inclusion of 2 reward cards with protect at base stats which is namely Ravehood Warden and Ferox Defender. Not forgetting there is another card, Arkemis the Bear that can give this ability too.
Each of these cards come in different forms, magic based in the likes of Venari Wavesmith and Queen Mycelia, melee based in the likes of Ferox Defender and Arkemis and finally range based Ravenhood Warden. Many will still love how Wavemsith and Queen Mycelia bully others due to the boost they can get from Alric and Obsidian respectively and magic attacks disregard armour. Range on Ravenhood Warden may seem little but that team based buff is all that makes things better for Death Splinter.
All in all, I hope you have already landed a few copy of Ravenhood Warden into your hands. Personally I think this card really brings a change to something Death Splinter always wanted and definitely will be a good addition to arsenal of cards. Be sure to level it up to get the Inspire ability as well.
The new reward cards are really shaking things up to how we do our lineups and Ravenhood Warden is just one of them. Let's continue to grow and see how we integreate these reward cards into our lineups.
