Prelude
Hello everybody, blessed 2023 to everyone. So glad to be making a post right on 1st Jan 2023 and wishing everyone a year filled with favour and joy. I recalled I shared on the recommended card Cursed Windeku sometime back, so I will leave it for now and share on it maybe in the near future. So today, I will be sharing on a card that is rarely used, Pelacor Deceiver.
Thoughts on Pelacor Deceiver
Not the usual card that we will use on normal occasion, maybe only appearing during earthquake rule set because it has flying. But to me, this card is still rather good.
Without further a do, let's get started with this week's sharing.
Let's look at the Level 1 base stats for Pelacor Deceiver:
| Mana | Attack | Health | Speed | Armour | Ability |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 1 (Melee) | 8 | 3 | NA | Flying |
Bronze League - Attack + 1, Speed + 1
Silver League - Health + 2
Gold League - Attack + 1, Backfire
Beyond Gold - Speed + 1, retaliate
What does Pelacor Deceiver looking on growth?
Honestly, I would not keep this card at level 1 because 1 attack is low and I would easily replaced it with Cursed Windeku or Harklaw which have better abilities and higher attack.
This card when it gains more speed and at higher levels, it becomes a pain to opponent with backfire and retaliate. But the speed it possess is already a good attribute to enable sufficient dodging when combined with flying.
Alritey, let's see start the battle sharing.

Opponent Lineup
Prediction before pressing rumble
A very foreign lineup that I have never seen before for fire. Using 2 Djinns and Forgotten One at position 2. But with that, the value of Disintegrator significantly reduced.
Let's get ready to rumble
Round 1, Friendly across, no casualties for this round. Pelacor Deceiver got raged up and managed to dodge an attack.
Round 2, Another dodge from Lava Launcher by Pelacor Deceiver, but fall to grace after being struck by Gargoya Devil and one of the Djinn.
Round 3, Bigger Djinn and Gargoya Devil fell. My lineup intact.
Round 4, My Djinn Muirat fell but the rest of the lineup did sufficiently to take out most of my opponent lineup leaving only Forgotten One.
Round 5-8, It looked like a turn of tide with Forgotten One taking out, Sha-vi, Sand Worm and Lira on Round 5-7 respectively but thankfully Disintegrator with the armour absorbed the impact and secured the victory.
After Thoughts
I underestimated Forgotten One and almost got hit badly on the reverse. Thankfully I survived. To me, in this match up, Pelacor Deceiver manage to dodge 2 critical attacks and sustained sufficiently before falling.
Flying with high speed often give very good dodging capabilities and should not be underestimated. Such dodges can turn the tide for a game.
Did my strategy work in this game? Actually when I knew there is a rage ruleset, I chose to add in Pelacor Deceiver which already have flying and high speed. When slightly injured and gaining rage, Pelacor Deceiver will be able to become faster and hit harder.
Will I be using such a lineup in the future? It depends but high chance I will. One thing that made me use this lineup is also due to Odd One Out rule set which blocked me from using my usual tanks and Crypt Beetle is too easily killed by magic attacks.
Pelacor Deceiver, a card often left by the side should be considered for use, especially when the ruleset favours it and using it high speed + flying capability. Remember, do not leave this card at level 1, the higher it level up, the more powerful it becomes with new abilities and higher attack/speed/health. I believe from daily focus/end of season, many of us should have accumulated quite a number of copies of this card. Do not waste it, level it up and let it bring you more victories.
