I just want to start a dialogue about freedom as it's a word that's bandied about freely in the United States, but seldom understood. Without getting too wordy, let me posit two corollaries of freedom and, hopefully, we can get a dialogue going: 1. Freedom applies to individuals, not groups or societies 2. Freedom and personal responsibility are inseparable.
