The Time Traveller

Imagine if time travelled forward from the 1970s to this date and a middle aged woman is accessing Facebook for the first time. She would probably find several things shocking and have lots of questions. How did the facebook application automatically pull up her lists of friends? How was it able to know the things she found appealing? You who have lived in this time would probably feel smug and reply, ‘it’s a new technology.’

You would be wrong, completely so. There’s nothing new about Artificial Intelligence which is simply the intelligence displayed by machines. Now, imagine our time traveller from the first paragraph would be totally flummoxed by this. How can machines, inanimate objects possibly display intelligence?

Artificial intelligence is not the future. It can’t be because it’s already here.

The human brain is made of millions of specialized cells called neurons with unique interconnecting synapses that ensure information storage and transfer. The brain is awesomely designed and equipped to recognize, store and transfer information. For a long time, science has tried to mimic this unique human intelligence. They have succeeded to some extent with artificial ‘machine’ intelligence which can be expansively defined as a machine’s ability to assess its environment and respond to it appropriately.
It is nothing new.

Employers or requesters in the first stage of Effect.AI development posts these jobs on the decentralized blockchain. The workers can then search jobs to perform these tasks in exchange for payment by the employer. The information from this stage will instruct the artificial intelligence device how to perform these tasks, through the EFX token, mediated through the blockchain technology provided by NEO.

Some of these jobs might include classifying road signs in images, picking out photographs etc, depending on the algorithm. Completion of these tasks will ‘instruct’ the device and lead to the progression of the algorithm to the next stage.
