The movie starts with Rachel McAdams as Linda Liddle, Linda is an intelligent and hardworking employee, an honest and diligent employee who is not valued at her workplace, but is very resourceful at work and her new boss is very unappreciative of her efforts and dedication to the company. He represents everything Linda has always hated in the corporate world. Bradley is just an arrogant, privileged and entitled son who inherited a company he knows nothing about from his late father.
And when they were traveling on a private plane for a business meeting, the plane crashed, leaving only Linda and Bradley as the only people who survived the crash on an island, and survival became the only thing that mattered between both of them and there was no workplace hierarchy for both of them.
And what makes this movie really interesting is that Bradley now had to depend on Linda, who had survival skills and strength to survive the island. But Bradley couldn't do anything to survive, but relied on Linda for everything, including shelter, food and survival at large. His confidence and superiority became invaluable and useless, all he could do is depend on Linda for everything, a woman he ones underestimated.
Rachel McAdamsis one of the movies greatest strength, she embodied the character Linda perfectly. The character, Linda, is a very determined, ambitious, smart and dangerous character. I didn't see her dangerous attributes from the beginning of the movie, but at the end, I saw an intelligent and dangerous character that was just neglected from the beginning and perceived as the victim. From the comic scenes, to the violence scene, she did amazing work. It was really frustrating watching Bradley, because he was an arrogant, vulnerable and fascinating character.
The director of this movie did an amazing job, the camera movement captured every right, the dark and scary humor, and exaggerated reaction made the movie fascinating to watch. I didn't just watch these characters survive, but was also trying to think of ways they would escape the situation they find themselves in and that was because of the director's effort in this movie.
This movie also explores important themes, like the workplace power dynamics that the viewers can relate to, also the consequences of underestimating others. The story shows how quickly social status can disappear when situation that requires survival hits.
The ending of this Send Help (2026) wasn't a satisfying one. I believe there will be a second part because the ending left me in suspense and curious. The movie is unpredictable and surprisingly funny, regardless of the horrific scenes. The director used a very different angle and approach in this movie, and succeeded in creating a character the viewers once felt sorry for, to a character that they hated at the end. It's the kind of movie that will keep you glued to your screen all day.
