Didn't the cash ban just get implemented by banks instead of decreed by legislation? I have seen stories of Australian banks no longer handing over cash to depositors, and only supporting digital forms of payment. While people have a direct means of stating their preferences in political referenda and elections, it seems their input into corporate operations are limited to patronage, which can be overridden with financial assets from other operations flowing in to replace them and their financial support.
Thanks!
