IMG source - TessleyMoorGunDogs - Looks just like Bear
Tom has been increasingly challenged by his medical condition. I had intended to visit him this last Friday, but after discussing the situation with his nurse, have understood that he is unable to respond presently, and a visit would burden his nursing staff, as well as complicate pandemic prevention.
He has repeatedly needed emergency surgical intervention, and presently is unable to respond to requests verbally to state his name. I no longer expect Tom to return home, and if he survives, he will likely move to live with family members out of state. My grief is deep, but my present life concerns require me to carry on with preparing for changing conditions we are all soon to experience.
Bear is pure blooded Springer Spaniel, and needs a home with some room for him to exercise, where his natural abilities to hunt will be well trained and effected regularly. Accordingly, I have been contacting sportsmen I know locally in the hope that a bird hunter who can profit from Bear's excellent capabilities will provide him a permanent home.
I am unable to provide Bear those necessary conditions, and if I do not shortly find him a home myself, will take him to a local no kill shelter that will, and provide them the 3 month supply of food I have secured for him.
I wish I could keep him, but current events make that impossible. For all who have cared, please know that everything that can be done for Tom is being done, and I am doing all I can to provide the best future possible for Bear.
