I am so happy to greet once again this wonderful community! motherhood@motherhood, I hope you are doing great and have an excellent week, full of blessings, many successes for you and your families.

The topic I am going to address through this post is a thoughtful, analytical and influential idea in many parents, it is about the behavioral characteristics we acquire as parents, it is not about simple definitions but about my personal experience.

I am looking forward to reading your comments, what do you think about parenting methods (all in all sincerity), which ones do you use, what are today's parents like, I am very happy to share with you part of my short experience as a new mom.

It is normal that when our children are in mom's womb we begin to idealize a parenting method, a way that "according to us we will apply" hahaha, and when that little person is born and grows up I think the complications grow with it, and nothing happens as we had thought.

I was one of those who said "I am going to be serious with my child", "I am not going to give him/her confidence so that he/she will listen to me", "we have to be strict with him/her" (I write this with laughter), I have not been any of that, my daughter is growing and the more time goes by I think it is more complicated for me, everything is a constant learning process.

The way they start to throw tantrums, to say NO! to everything, when they don't want to eat, curiosity... in short, a lot of things that they acquire as they grow, and they are natural for every child.

But in the middle of everything I think everything goes in how we talk to them, yelling is not necessary, much less hitting, the right way to say things is with tact and sincerity, as they say "nicely", although my little girl is very small she understands well.

And at this stage is where it is essential to create that bond of trust that over the years allows us to have a relationship of trust, so I want it to be our bond, we can talk, tell me their problems and together we can solve them.

The idea of talking about my experience and that of the girl's father began when I heard a family psychologist talk on a television program about the "types of fathers", and the way each one chooses how to raise their children, I immediately identified my husband as the strict father.

That father who sets rules, imposes habits and somehow demonstrates the hardness of his character, perhaps so that the child does not "take him for a game" and take him too seriously, but that in the long run may cause the child to repress in some aspects for not "missing" what is designated by his parents (not in all cases).

What is true is that no study shows that the imposition of rules and habits can create a rebound effect in your child when they grow up thanks to that feeling of "repression", on the contrary, it can augur a very good future full of success thanks to their personal demands.

Somehow I have been thinking that when my girl grows up she will be grateful for each one of those things, they will make her a girl with virtues and many qualities, maturity and efficiency to face her affective, working and personal life... it has many benefits to be strict but it is also important to know how to say things.

In my case I fit in the standard of "spoiled mother", but be careful, this does not mean that I am a "spoiled mother". But be careful, this does not mean that my daughter will do whatever she wants and I will allow it, but that in a way I am in good part that extreme that listens, feels, empathizes and sympathizes with what she wants to express.

A little more permissive than her dad (he is sometimes too exaggerated), I encourage the child to interact with more children, he on the other hand does not like the idea very much, I let her play in the yard, he says she will get "sick".

So as my mom would say "Cilantro is good, but not that good", sometimes I tell my husband to let her be a child, curiosity, experimenting, and unfolding is not bad, it is part of childhood, all these are necessary stages and processes for her physical and mental development.

I don't believe that a "soft" family can totally "harm" a child's development, everything in the right amounts is fair and necessary. Although the upbringing of my daughter was never what I thought and it is not easy either, it is necessary to know how to say things, and to know how to impose habits, nothing in a bad way is good.

The most complicated thing has been not to disown each other in front of the child because you know what it entails, the exact formula for good parenting, so far I think there is none, each one in his role as a parent does the best he can.

Bringing up a child is not easy, we can suffer and cry in the attempt, that is life itself, the important thing is to bring them up, fill them with values for life and education for the future, it is the only inheritance with infinite value that will really do them good.

Thank you very much for reading me, for your support and attention 💜
