Continuamos nuestra ruta tur铆stica visitando Mi kabrita.
I hope you enjoyed a weekend full of good vibes. For my part, I feel happy and grateful for the opportunity to travel and continue exploring the various tourist destinations that our beautiful state of Aragua offers us.
This weekend, to celebrate my boyfriend Josdrian's birthday, we decided to visit Colonia Tovar, and I would like to share this experience with you through this beautiful community @worldmappin.
Colonia Tovar, capital of the Tovar municipality in the state of Aragua, is one of the most charming places in Venezuela. It stands out for its great cultural attraction, since it is a little piece of Germany in our country. The first settlers were Germans who migrated from villages in the Black Forest, such as Wyhl, Edingen and Oberberbergen de Kaiserstuhl and settled in this area of Aragua state, being Martin Tovar Ponte, who gave the land so they could settle and be the first settlers of this territory, hence its name.
Colonia Tovar, besides preserving the traditions inherited from their ancestors, is characterized by its mild climate and unique landscape, its beautiful architecture and the friendliness of its people, but also for having a typical gastronomy of German cuisine, allowing us to taste its delicious dishes.
After many years without visiting Colonia Tovar, when I arrived I was enveloped by its charming energy and beautiful scenery. I decided to document my trip to recommend some incredible places in this destination.
To make the most of your visit, I suggest you take a tour of the most emblematic sites in town. There are 18 destinations to explore, but I want to share 7 that we really fell in love with and left us wanting to return.
To begin this route, when you arrive in town, ask for the trolleys that offer tours. You can choose the one you like best; the ride costs $10 per person and lasts between 1 hour and 30 minutes or 2 hours and 30 minutes. Regardless of the duration, the experience is fabulous.
Our tour began with a visit to the wine factory. In this beautiful place, they explained to us the process of making handmade wine and gave us a taste of the different types of wines they make, such as: dry wine that had 18潞 of alcohol and does not contain sugar, so you can perceive more acidity. We also tasted the semi-dry strawberry wine and two sweet wines made with blackberry and parchita that had 11潞 of alcohol. You could perceive the smells and taste of the fruits on the palate. We took the opportunity to take pictures in the garden and buy some alfajores after the delicious tasting.
We continued our touristic route visiting Mi kabrita. This is a small family farm that works as a factory that produces handmade products based on goat's milk and it is also a contact farm, so you can enjoy and interact with the cute little goats and feed them with the instructions of a guide. As a curious fact, you must tie your hair up, because the goats may want to eat it hahaha. Here they also offer a delicious tasting of their products.
After passing by Mi Kabrita, we visited the Hydrangea Garden. This garden is located on an elevated site, so the weather is quite cold and it is also totally beautiful. We were able to observe an immense hydrangea plantation. The inhabitants of the area say that this beautiful flower began to grow naturally and they decided to take care of it so that it could be maintained and preserved. It is truly magical to be able to see this beautiful flower and how it has spread in this area.
The tree house is another of the stops we made and I recommend it 100%, as it is a viewpoint that offers a beautiful view of Colonia Tovar. When you arrive at the place you must pay $1 to enter, this is the only place where you must pay to visit. It is a viewpoint where you cross a suspension bridge about 28 meters high to reach the little house. This imposing tree is a ceiba, which is more than 100 years old and the locals built this beautiful two-story house.
The place is very nice, because you can also enjoy a hot chocolate or a drink of your choice, as we did, because they have a bar and also offer meals, so you can relax for a while and enjoy a quiet atmosphere with good music.
We continued our tour visiting the Coloniera Brewery, where the tradition of craft beer brewing is maintained. In addition, this company is the first in our country to brew craft beer. Here they explained to us their history and also the process involved in making a craft beer. We were able to taste the different beers they make and I can tell you that I loved them, especially the blackberry and blackberry flavored beers. It also has a viewpoint where you can take pictures with the beautiful scenery in the background and spend some quiet time with a beer.
After visiting the Coloniera Brewery, we headed to Embutidos G眉nter, which is a company created by G眉nter Hubrig, a well-known master butcher from Germany who settled in Colonia Tovar. After many years of hard work and perseverance, G眉nter managed to create this factory dedicated to the production of high quality sausages and meat products, preserving the original recipes of his homeland.
Embutidos G眉nter is famous for reaching a Guinness Record for the elaboration of the largest sausage, which measured 15 meters and weighed 498 kilos. This sausage was made to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Colonia Tovar.
To end this beautiful tour, we passed by chocolatico, a charming place where they sell delicious chocolate. Here they briefly explained to us the elaboration of the chocolate through the cocoa that they bring from Chuao and Puerto Maya. In this nice place they give you a delicious stick full of chocolate and a marshmallow, to encourage you to buy their products which you can get from $ 1.
Here in chocolatico, we took the opportunity to sing birthday to my boyfriend and enjoy the weather for another while, as it started to get a little colder.
After this beautiful and incredible walk, we decided to walk around the town for a while and visited the church, we also walked through the streets of the colony and tasted the typical dish consisting of a German and a Polish sausage, along with a potato and cabbage salad.
Finally, there is something you can't miss if you visit Colonia Tovar: enjoy the delicious strawberries with cream. In my case, I opted for peach with cream, since I'm not a big fan of strawberries, hehehe. The truth is that it was a wonderful walk that we all enjoyed: my boyfriend, my in-laws, my sister-in-law and me.
We had a great time, so I invite you to visit Colonia Tovar and learn a little more about its culture, customs and traditions, because it is really worth it. In addition, the treatment and hospitality of its inhabitants will make you feel very well.
I bid you a fond farewell and see you in a future post dear travelers.
