Do you know the "ghosts" of Venezuela?, I guess my dear readers of Hive that many of you know one or another story of the most popular paranormal beings of Venezuela, such as the Silbón, the llorona, the sayona, among some other creepy beings protagonists of stories that we have heard since we were children and that are part of the culture of the country. When I was a child I was told many stories of different entities that frightened more than one and I want to share with you what I remember and how I felt about it. Let's remember then in this month of October some terrifying creatures of Venezuelan folklore, many popular and others not so popular.

Have you heard of the Ceretones?

It is said that they are small men with big hats that usually appear in the Falconian region and their origin dates back to the time of the conquest and the colony. These small masculine beings are a kind of mocking goblins that fall in love with women they consider pretty and begin to harass them in an attempt to kidnap them. The curious thing about the case is that it is believed that the ceretones are men in love who were rejected and decided to become these strange goblins so they could be close to their loved one and not be seen.

A bit disturbing, isn't it? Personally, I already find goblins disturbing, so imagine a kind of goblin stalker and kidnapper.

Speaking of goblins as such, do you know the type of goblins that are said to appear in the eastern region of Venezuela?

According to them, they are invisible beings with a childish voice and their origin dates back to colonial times. Their history is sad, as it is believed that when children die without being baptized they turn into goblins. These tiny beings like to make fun of people, hide things, make mischief in general. A very particular way to make them disappear is to eat while you do some physiological need, because this causes them disgust.

I tell you that I have some anecdotes about goblins. I believe that in this life you have to believe in a little bit of everything and I have some reason to believe that goblins exist even though I have never seen one because although I have never seen one, my dad tells me that when he was a child he saw one with his friends and they all ran away (my dad has a few paranormal experiences). Also, I remember that when I was little they used to say that if you looked at a red boot for too long the goblins would appear to take you away, I didn't have red boots as such, but my dolls did, you can imagine that I hid those boots and didn't put the boots on them anymore. Now the strangest thing that happened to me, but I don't know if I can say for sure that it was a goblin or a paranormal experience as such, is that once I was sleeping at my grandparents' house and while I was in a state between asleep and awake, I could feel my feet being pulled clearly and when I lowered my head to see what it was I didn't see anything pulling my feet, but I saw my feet moving to help me to be released, they say that goblins pull the feet of people they want to take away, could it have been a goblin? What could have been that?

Moving on to another terrifying being of Venezuelan folklore, have you heard about the dwarf of the cathedral?

The dwarf of the cathedral dresses in white with a black hat and carries a tobacco in hand, he usually appears in the surroundings of the cathedral of Caracas and dates back to the colonial period. It is said that the dwarf is a little deformed and appears in the early hours of the morning around the cathedral. It is a curious being of inoffensive appearance, he tries to stop whoever walks alone to ask for fire for his tobacco. Those who know the story continue on, but whoever decides to light his tobacco witnesses the diabolical transformation of the dwarf into a being of fire that grows as high as the cathedral.

When I visited Caracas, the times my parents and I passed by the cathedral, I always kept looking at it thinking about the dwarf to see if I saw him🤣, I never saw him, but well, he is supposed to appear at dawn. 🤔

Have you heard about these characters before?, what do you think about them?, have you had any experience with goblins? 🤔
