My fellow Steemians... After being able to enjoy the wonders of the recently released iOS 11, watchOS 4 and tvOS 11 we will be gifted with another feature packed update for their other platform, macOS. Tomorrow Apple will finally release macOS High Sierra! Free of charge!
It will probably be available in the Mac App Store at 19:00 CET.
Which devices can be updates?
The following devices are supported:
- iMac (late 2009 or newer)
- MacBook (late 2009 or newer)
- MacBook Pro (mid 2010 or newer)
- MacBook Air (late 2010 or newer)
- Mac mini (mid 2010 or newer)
- Mac Pro (mid 2010 or newer)
I would suggest to clean your Mac before starting the update process so the update can go as smooth as possible. You don't really want to migrate junk to the new OS. Also, make sure to have backed up all your important files just in case anything goes wrong... I have all my files in OneDrive so I will hit the update button as soon as it becomes available.
When it comes to macOS I always download and install new versions immediately because I'm always looking forward to the many improvements we get for free and all my updates have installed without a problem. As an Apple adept and 'fanboy', but an objective one, I'm always on top of all Apple related news so I'm really looking forward to this big release as I was for the releases of last week.
Special message for all cryptocurrency holders!
Do NOT forget to backup your local wallet files just in case anything goes wrong! As always anything could go wrong and you don't want to loose any wallet file and lose coins. Perhaps you could even wait a couple of hours or a few days after the release before updating yourself to make sure you won't get any of the early adopter problems, if they occur.
