I could recall this day. It was on a Thursday and I had a marriage ceremony to attend. During that period I was still working in a school, and I had doubts that I would meet up the ceremony due to the late closing hours.
I got the Fabric for the ceremony but I wasn't able to make the outfit from it. I had to wear an outfit from it so as not to look odd since everyone in the family was on it.
Fortunately for me, I closed earlier than expected, then rushed home. I had to make something of that fabric. I thought of making a head wrap with the fabric but the fabric was huge and I had no plans to cut it.
Finally, I decided to tie it on my waist. Tyeing of wrapper is an outfit in my society, especially for traditional ceremonies. I wasn't going to make mine so cultural. I needed something more stylish and unusual.
I couldn't make the wrap beautiful myself, so I had to engage the help of my neighbor who happens to be a fashion designer and she tied it for me.
The outfits came out so lit. At first, I had these cold feet. I wasn't ready to face the crowd with my outfit since I haven't seen much of it around me. It took a lot from me to boldly step out.
Finally stepping out, the compliments I got made me feel so good and confident. I could freely walk around and danced during the ceremony.
Beauty is improvisation
Most times, I feel I don't have enough outfits I have three huge boxes of clothes but the ability to combine them is not there. I prefer already made clothes not until I found out that I could make improvisations for my outfits.
Looking good is a great business and it doesn't only depend on my money.
Most times you would see wealthy people with a poor sense of dressing and body composure.
Hey, queens keep your heads high, present yourself properly, look good, dress well, smell nice, and make possible improvisations even when you can't afford a particular type of outfit.
