Greetings, OCD Community! I believe this is my second posting in this community. Actually, I'm searching for a community where my blog will fit in, but I'm sorry to say that I'm having trouble doing so. I'm sorry if my blog is inappropriate here. However, I hope you will still view my piece as a quality content blog today.

We now live in a civilization where technology is quite advanced and is influencing our way of life and culture. We identify ourselves by the communities in which we live, and as a result, in some ways, we are a part of them. Who we are is also greatly influenced by our culture. I gained knowledge on how to conceptualize my identity from an anthropological standpoint and how I was a part of the society I was raised in.

My cultural identity initially taught me that there is a framework for what is considered to be normal and acceptable. I recall being a modest child growing up and constantly getting advice from my grandparents and parents on how to sit, dress, and behave around my peers outside. I also learn the values and behaviours that I must employ in my day-to-day activities. When I was a teenager, my parents wanted me to go to a private Catholic school because they thought I'd fit in well there. They were wrong, though, as soon I started going to that Catholic school, I felt like I was being imprisoned since all we did was pray and study. At a young age, I rebelled and became pregnant. That caused me to mature.

The last thing I discovered is that culture has an impact on identity, whether it is a good or bad one. As you can see, some people will always be fans of what's new, what's popular, and what's genuinely happening in our society. Some people might benefit from this, but others would suffer because they would eventually look in the mirror and realize they are not "that," which would have a detrimental effect on them.

Everyone has a unique personality, therefore even if your upbringing has formed and imprinted you as a person, you will learn something about yourself in the future. This is another thing I saw. Because as we grow older and meet different individuals day by day, they will all have something to teach us, I do believe that this interaction also shaped us as human beings.
