I won this coin in 1989 when I was 13 years old.
I was playing chess with my friend and placed a large handful of copper coins against this coin. Then I didn't know how much this coin was worth and I thought it was very expensive :) Now I know its price, it costs $11-12. For this money, now you can have lunch in a cafe once. I think it's unfair, silver should be worth more.
This coin was made in the USSR in 1924. Denomination 1/2 ruble. A blacksmith is depicted on the front side. The weight of the coin is 10 grams, the fineness of silver is 900. Coin diameter 2.667 cm.
On the reverse side there is an inscription - "Proletarians of all countries, unite!"
The weight of pure silver is indicated on the edge of the coin - 9 grams.
This coin will be 100 years old next year. And I hope I can wait until this coin is worth $100.
