5 Nigerian teenage girls from Regina Pacies Secondary School Onitsha Anambra State who represented Nigeria and Africa at the World Technovation Challenge in the Silicon Valley in San Francisco, US last night, have won the Gold Medal in the contest.
MY Take:
First of all i would like to congratulate these young ladies for winning this prestigious award and also to thank them for doing Nigeria and Africa proud.
This award couldnt have come at a better time especially now that we live in the #metoo economy where woman all over the world are standing up againt sexuall harassment and objectification of women.
News of these young ladies achievement adds to the narrative in a positive way and proves a lot of men wrong, men like the president of Nigeria who once proclaimed that women only belong in the bedroom or in the kitchen. Well Mr President, as you can see, women can also win awards that can show the world that scam and corruption are not the only things that Nigeria has to offer.
So #bringbackourgirls so they can win more awards and continuw to do us proud.
