The beauty of a woman transends her physical appearance,
Her beauty also lies in her strong will,
I recognize her determination and ambition,
Her desire to be treated with equality and civility,
To be judged by the content of her character,
And not to be admired for the size of her breasts,
Nor to have looks number graded.

Over the years, the woman has fought,
She fights to be seen as not just a trophy,
Fights not to be subjected to objectification,
I cant imagine the strenght it takes to simultaneously work, make a home, nurture children and to lend voice to a movement that insists on re-writing social norms,
Norms that insist that the woman be treated with deserving dignity

Your resilience in your desire for reform,
Your suffrage brought about change,
A movement that was nothing short of commendable,
Such resilience inspires poetry,
For you to be treated less than what you are worth is unjustifiable
But i am afraid that theres need for more reform,
A need for re-education,
Because over the years we have heard grusome tales,
Tales of mass rape,
Of sexual harassment and sex slavery,
Tales of child brides,
The story of the pending execution of a child bride that killed her husband after he held her down and raped her,
Tales of the woman shot because of her desire to get an education,
Jailed for driving a car or watching a game at the stadium
There is hope that we will stand for what is best for humanity,
To understand that to degrade a woman is pure insanity and not in the best interest of the society.
