Under the sun
I toiled
I laboured
I hustled.

But then,
The earth failed me
The harvest wasn't bountiful
Heck! There wasn't even an harvest
Wasted years there were
Years. Locust had eaten
Rusted years
Vanity.

Then, I went in search for closure
In the bosom of men
May I lie
Maybe I could find comfort
Or
Peace
Hope
Love
Joy.

But then, it wasn't to be
The more I searched
The more disillusioned
confused I got
Empty
Worn out. Torn
Was I.

Let me go back to my creator
I'd asked him why I even had to come
Esther came
Intending to drag me to church
I declined.

But then,
She persuaded
I thought
One last activity wouldn't hurt
I thought
One last pretense
Will go unnoticed. Like always.

One line from worship leader
High, mighty, iron fence
Crippled
The power of his love
Broke into the wall headlong
The love is fire
Cos it melted everything
I surrendered. No more me.

I came to the end of me
I came to the end of men
I found love. Love found me
I was home.
