Another season has ended on Splinterlands, and a new one has begun. I performed quite well this season—not necessarily in terms of ranking, but in terms of accumulating more and more Glint and simply enjoying the experience. For several previous seasons, I had been playing in both the Modern and Frontier formats, which prevented me from excelling in either; so, at the start of this season, I decided to focus entirely on Modern because I wanted to pull as many cards as possible from the Conclave Arcana set. By doing this, I purchased around 25 Common rarity draws twice and about 30 Rare rarity draws twice, while also leveling up close to 10 cards; yet, even now at the season's end, I still have over 43,000 Glint remaining. If we calculate the rough expenditure, I spent over 50,000 Glint on rarity draws alone this season. Additionally, I bought around 100 Alchemy and Legendary potions, and on top of all that, I managed to save 43,000 Glint, which I will now use in the new season.
Also, since I had managed to unlock Gold League Tier 2 just an hour before the season ended, the season reset placed me at Silver League Tier 1; that is where I have to start my journey for this season. A look at the leaderboard reveals that my rank has improved slightly this time; although 152 is still quite low, it is better than the previous season. I achieved a peak ranking of 2200 within the league—which is somewhat average—and since finishing the season in the Gold League has been a recurring pattern for several seasons now, there is no real improvement there. However, my win rate has improved significantly; I don't recall the exact figure, but it was likely below 50% last season, whereas this season it stood at 54.39%—a substantial jump. Additionally, I achieved a maximum win streak of 9 battles this time, which is a solid result. I remember wondering during that streak whether I would break my old record—which I believe stands at 13 consecutive wins—but winning 9 battles in a row is no small feat, so I am happy.
Let’s talk about this new season. I decided back in the previous season that, for the first time in my Splinterlands history, I would play in 'Wild Mode.' Playing in Wild Mode requires spending 2,000 DEC to obtain a pass valid for a single season, and I have already purchased the necessary DEC for it. It is called 'Wild' Mode because you can use cards from any set available in Splinterlands, giving you complete freedom to test out various strategies. Naturally, I need to prepare my deck first, so I’ll likely be renting a large number of cards today; then, either this evening or tomorrow, I’ll purchase the Wild Pass and kick off my Wild journey in Splinterlands. This will be a new experience for me too, as there are many powerful Splinterlands card sets I haven't even seen yet. So, get ready—this season, you’ll learn a lot about the wild battles of Wild Mode and the strategies associated with them.
