ERROR STRUGGLE IS REAL
I have spent the better part of last two days trying to set up a bot on Steemit. Unfortunately, things weren't going my way.
Struggle 1
I could not get the Python package to install. I literally installed like 20GB of various applications that I thought would fulfill the dependency necessities, and it still failed.
Struggle 2
I was getting tired. That's when I had the bright idea of trying it on other computers. So, without further ado, I installed Python and the necessary dependencies on 2 other machines. Unfortunately, this also did nothing to help me.
Struggle 3
Getting desperate, I started looking for programmer who would know what to do. I could not find anyone who worked with Python+steem, so I asked in general programming chats. They recommended I find another library, but it seems like piston is the one to go with here, so I don't really have that option.
Struggle 4
Ubuntu. That's it! I can install Ubuntu, and all my problems will magically go away!
WRONG!
Still no success. Still errors. Is something wrong with the package? What am I doing wrong? All the Google results for my errors are slightly different. I tried a bunch of solutions to no end.
Struggle 5
You can see how I was frustrated at this point. I gave up.
Struggle 6
No, screw that. I want to make it work.
Oh! That's right! There are other libraries! Node.js!
I tested it out with some sample code, and it seems to work just fine.
Struggle 7
One tiny problem. I don't know node.js or what it really is.
Struggle 8
I will now be trying to (might fail as well) to learn node.js
Will be back to civilization once I am ready.
Conclusion
This is a story of failure. This is also a story of perseverance.
