Recently I was having a conversation with some fellow steemians over at minnowsupport. I had a few thoughts regarding follower categories.
Three Follow Types:
Type 1: F4F (Follow for follow)
- These are followers are probably not going to help you grow. They will not read or support your articles. In all likelihood they simply do not share the same interests as you do. Your only common ground is wanting followers.
Type 2: Comment based
- These are people that followed you because you commented on their, or someone else's work. These are quality followers. They agreed with one of your views, or found you otherwise insightful.
Type 3: Post based
- These are the followers that followed you because they want to see more of your work. These are very high value followers that will be the core audience for your work. They liked your work and want to see more.

What kind of followers do you inspire?
