If you haven't been following Bitquence, in a nutshell they're looking to create baskets of cryptocurrencies so you can effectively buy coin indexes. Or a better financial instrument analogy would be they're creating crypto "Exchange Traded Funds (ETFS)" or "Index Funds".
If they're able to pull this off, this would be HUGE for the crypto market's growth. Think about how time consuming it is to research crypto. It's difficult for everyone, even for the most knowledgeable folks in our circles. Well with BQX, you'll be able to buy exposure to the types of macro trends you're interested in supporting. For example, you could buy NAV, XMR, and ZEC if you wanted access to privacy coins. Or maybe you want to build your own portfolio and just hit the buy button once, instead of buying each and every coin separately. Stephen Corliss is the ex-COO of BlackRock, and before that iShares, and before that State Street. BQX has hired an incredibly seasoned and knowledgeable professional in the managed funds, index funds, and ETF space. In many ways, potentially the best financial services industry person for this role. He knows how the ETF/Index businesses work and now just needs to apply those principles to the crypto space. The synergies between his knowledge and what the BQX team is looking to build are incredible - perfect match.
I've wanted a reputable push for decentralized crypto indexes and this is looking like the most solid swing at it I've seen.
