LILY EYES

I wish I had a cool mind once more, but my life longs to tread another path. The forest of my city is full of mysteries; beautiful and attractive enigmas. How I wish I could enter it and discover one that has long caught my attention, one that bears beautiful lilac eyes.

My best friend Robert warned me to forget about them, for they bring with them a tentative curse that every victim must overcome: "The seductive gleam of those eyes may seem irresistible, but once you fall into them there is no return," he told me, his eyes wild and his right hand clutching his chest.

He confessed to me that countless times he tried to enter the forest trying to look for them, but fear held him back, because legends told that the mere thought of it is a sure pass to perdition. I did not have the same will of steel, I begged to see those eyes and have them in front of me to look at them with curiosity.

The myth tells that they belong to a very beautiful woman who lives there in the forest; like a sacred nymph of those always mentioned in Greek stories. The woman, victim of a misfortune, and having completely lost her will, became an infamous being who only seeks the destruction of those who fall under her spell.

She begged me several times not to peep in, even making me promise to disregard the temptation to which I agreed. But my heart was bent on wanting to meet the beauty of those spectral eyes, peering out to greet me from the distant darkness.

One night, looking out of my bedroom window, I heard a song that seemed to come from the horizon. A cool breeze drifted through the openings of my dwelling, giving me a stupefying aroma that enticed me to cross the gates of temptation.

I pulled on a pair of pants and went in search of the unknown. The night was clear and the cold fog opened my way into the forest. The chanting sounded more and more diaphanous, I was getting closer and closer to meeting it. Huge trees and mystical bushes gave way to a clearing, and it was in a stream of hidden dimensions that I met her.

Her bright lilac eyes were my first impression. Then I glanced at her shimmering, silver skin; she looked as if she had come from the moon. Her hair was blonde like beautiful golden strands. She was dressed in white with a transparent silk dress that let her sensuality show through. Her sensual mouth bore beautiful red lips like the color of wild strawberries, and when she smiled, she revealed beautiful ivory teeth dominated by two huge sharp fangs like those of a predator.

She motioned for me to approach her and I obeyed. My friend's warning had completely disappeared from my mind. I just wanted to sink into her, this time no longer in my dreams, but bathed in that stream where she dips all her lovers before turning them into nothing.

THE END
