Lizzy: What is the difference between faith and hope?
Universal Roots: Faith is flowing, hope is frozen.
Faith is certain, hope is wishing.
Faith is security, hope is insecurity.
Faith is timeless, hope is time.
Faith is like a river that flows with nature, it's not hoping to take a different route, it's not worried whether it will reach the ocean, it is simply being and doing without any effort or goal.
Hope can never flow like a river, it always has an agenda to become something - this is why it can only see through the lens of time, rather than the timeless and remains frozen.
How can a frozen river flow?
In order for it to flow the ice must melt, the image of what 'should be' must come to an end.
As long as you hope for an end result, thinking that it will fulfill your life; division from the flow will remain - what 'is' and what should 'be' will always be in conflict.
Faith is never divided from the flow, for it is one with the law of causation - one with life itself.
When the 'me' the 'doer' dissolves, life spontaneously unfolds as it should; this is the beauty in which the entire cosmos flows - moment by moment.
