What am I Doing?
So earlier I tried my hand and streaming live in Splinterlands. I've got some experience with live video as I worked in television for over 15 years. However, none of that mattered a moment ago. My daughter and wife are in the next room over getting ready for bed and I am not in a studio dialing in satellite feeds.
Anyway, here is what I did learn about streaming over the internet before I changed professions.
- Test your equipment beforehand.
- Schedule your events.
- Be worth watching.
I did none of those things.
I figured that the stakes were low. I have no reputation to uphold and so I will just go live and see what happens.

What Did I Learn?
I really need to follow my own advice. The equipment isn't all that bad but there were a few kinks that I could make better. As for scheduling events. That's easy. Be on the lookout for a weekly live event. One big stream is much more likely than several small ones.
As for the big number 3, "be worth watching". That's all that matters. You can have spotty camera work and go live on a whim and it won't make a difference if you are worth watching. But I have no illusions. I won't get rich making these video's and you definitely won't get rich watching them. It's a hobby. At the end of the day if you find some pressure in tuning in then I am happy.
