How Many Gladius Cases Needed for a Max Set with and without Stones?

Opening Packs Without Stones (Don't Do it!)
The average number of packs needed to complete a max set of Gladiator cards with no stones is 1,964 for regular foil (RF) or 35,000 for gold foil (GF)!
Opening With Only Blood Stones
The average number of packs needed to complete a max set of Gladiator cards with only blood stones is 1,173 for regular foil (RF) or 17,500 for gold foil (GF).
Opening With Both Blood and Power Stones
The average number of packs needed to complete a max set of Gladiator cards with both stones is 1,198 for regular foil (RF) or 8,750 for gold foil (GF).
What Does This Mean?
Ignoring the gold-foil fray specialist and excluding Power Stones, someone wanting to complete a maxed set of RF gladiators without Blood Stones needs to spend 3,928,000 merits on 1,964 Gladius packs.
Alternatively, with Blood Stones, they need to spend 1,964,000 merits on 982 Gladius packs (not including the DEC needed to purchase stones).
By using stones, you get your maxed set of Gladiator cards 147.3 packs faster by using blood stones!
Of course, the numbers are even more drastic if we're looking at a GF fray specialist who's buying both Blood and Power Stones.
For bronze league, a complete max-level Bronze collection requires 178 Gladius packs with no Blood Stones and only 102 Gladius packs with Blood Stones. Across all leagues, stones reduce the required packs by about 45%.
In summary, don't open gladius cases without stones!
